My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress; I will never be shaken.
Psalm 62: 1-2

I blinked and 2018 has come and gone. As I sit here and reflect on last year and all it taught me, it is so clear to me that it was truly my best year yet. From starting my sophomore year of college, moving into my junior year of college, going to a new country for 2 1/2 months, meeting new people, strengthening relationships, traveling with my family, and everything in between... it was honestly a year of soaring into new heights and depths.
As a lot of other people do, I go into a new year by praying for a word that the Lord would like to speak into my life for the new year. Last year, He told me that I was going to soar. While it would be easy to stay in the covering of last year's adventures and growth, it is time to move into what the Lord has next for me. As I was praying and asking Him what His word for me was for 2019 was, I felt Him whisper "rest in me."
If you are like me, you know how hard it is to just be still. I tend to stress about little things and try to come up with my own solutions for every step of my life. However, God is wanting me to rest in the truth that He has it all under control. As I was doing my daily Bible reading, I lingered on Psalm 62 for a period of time. 2019 will be a year of allowing my soul to find rest in Him and remembering that He is my fortress and defender. He has promised me that every single detail of my life is planned out and will be accomplished in His timing and according to His will. Like a child, I will rest in the arms of the One who will never let me go.

2018 was a year of growth and soaring into newness in Him, and I am declaring that 2019 will be a year of resting in His truths, His promises, and His will.
I promise to live in daily surrender to His voice.
I promise to not let life's situations impact my ability to rest in His unchanging nature.
I promise to always commit 100% to whatever endeavors await me.
While last year was incredible, I believe that the Lord is encouraging us to remember that the best is certainly yet to come.
Friends, as you are making your resolutions and preparing for the new year, please remember to rest in the One who has your entire year in order from beginning to end.
